Robert Louis Stevenson/Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson-রবার্ট লুই স্টিভেনসন (13th November 1850-3rd December 1894) was a world famous Scottish poet, musician, novelist and travel writer born to Thomas Stevenson (a famous lighthouse engineer) and Margaret Isabella in Edinburgh (Scotland).
Stevenson spent most of the time of his childhood in his maternal grandfather's house. Having a weak chest and tendency to cough and fever, he often needed to stay in warmer climate for health issues. He was admitted to a school at India Street(Edinburgh) but could not continue due to illness and was taught by private tutors at home. He had have to travel many countries because of his weak lungs problem but his pen was not weak.
In the year 1881, Stevenson was planning about to write the history of Scotland but started writing a adventure novel named "Sea Cook" and the leading character of this novel was a young boy 'Jim Hawkins". Later, this novel was published as "Treasure Island. The Other main characters of this novel are Dr. David Livesey, Long John Silver, Captain Alexander Smollett, Squire John Trelawney  and Billy Bones. This novel was published as a book on 14th November 1883 in London.
On 3rd December 1894, Stevenson was talking to his wife and suddenly collapsed probably of a cerebral haemorrhage (hemorrhage).
Stevenson had always wanted his 'Requiem' (token of remembrance) inscribed on his tomb:

"Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.
This be the verse you grave for me:
Here he lies where he longed to be;
Home is the sailor, home from sea,
And the hunter home from the hill."
