Dr. Nihar Ranjan Gupta (6th June 1911-20th February 1986) was an Indian dermatologist and popular Bengali novelist creator of the famous fictional detective character " Kiriti Roy" also filmed in some Bengali movies. He came from a Kaviraj family of Itna village, Lohagara police station, Jessore which is presently located at the Narail district of Bangladesh.
